1) Andreas, österreichischer Turkologe, * Wien 26. 4. 1914; wurde 1958 Professor in Los Angeles (Calif.) und 1973 in Wien; Forschungen auf dem Gebiet der türkischen Etymologie, Volkskunde und Literatur.
 
Werke: The lingua franca in the Levant (1958, mit H. und R. Kahane); The Koman riddles and Turkic folklore (1966); Bilmece. A corpus of Turkish riddles (1973, mit M. I. Başgöz).
 
Herausgeber: Muṣṭafā Ālī's description of Cairo of 1599 (1975); Muṣṭafā Ālī's Counsel for Sultans of 1581, 2 Bände (1979-82).
 
 2) Hans, Kunsthistoriker, * Prag 1. 3. 1880, ✝ New York 13. 4. 1954; war 1918-38 Professor in Wien, wo er die Neuordnung der Museen leitete. Nach seiner Emigration (1938) lehrte er in New York.
